Harvel 5 Waiting List is NOW CLOSED
Regrettably, and due to overwhelming demand, we have now CLOSED THE WAIT LIST
We did our level best to advertise the fact that entries opened on Jan 1st (this in line with prior years). Totally unexpectedly, we sold ALL available places, in under 12 hours!
The race limit is set purposefully, to ensure a safe racing environment, plus we are limited by the physical boundaries of being a small Kentish village. We are runners ourselves, we are not a business, greedily accepting race entry money and delivering a below par race.
The waiting list was opened on Jan 1st, and as of today we have over 160 names on the list!
We are simply not going to realistically be able to fit anyone else in.
As ever, our entries will open on Jan 1st 2019.
Just like this year, they will be sold on a “first come, first served” basis. There was no pre-arranged ‘block booking’ by any one club
Finally, if you believe that there are extenuating reasons, why you should get a place for 2018’s race, you are welcome to email us email@example.com setting out those reasons. We cannot guarantee the timeliness of any response however.
Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you at one of our races soon.
The H5 Race Committee
This friendly but competitive, beautiful but tough race packs a lot into its five-mile out-and-back route. Tracing a path through the beautiful Kent countryside, the Harvel 5 covers tarmac, woodland, rocky slopes and all the mud a keen cross-country competitor could wish for.
Tired finishers will be revived by the beer, burgers and ice creams on sale at the finish, plus the local Women's Institute on hand with cake on Harvel's very English village green.
With a field of 800 runners, beer waiting at the water station for thirsty runners and a mini village fete in full swing at the finish, it has a party atmosphere that's hard to beat.

Start and finish: The race commences at 2pm. The start is approximately 50 metres from the green along White Horse lane. The course will be well marshalled throughout, with the kind co-operation of the Gravesend Police. The finish will be next to the village green.
