Dear Club Member
There are many things, that this club does well. Sadly, making changes to our club constitution isn’t one of those things, but despite that, we need to press on.
The result of the recent vote, proposing both:
- a club-wide vote for a Chairperson and
-each squad determining their own squad leads,
was responded to by 33 club members all of whom voted YES.
The following feedback comments were left:
•Who wrote this boring bloody email??? Should be strung up
•I think that generally the club has and does work well in it's current structure, I understand that with the size of the club and the financial implications that brings that key decisions need to be controlled. However, I feel the changes have been in part imposed by a small section of members who may push the club away from the group of runners running and enjoying a drink together.
•Agree there should be elected representatives. I think it could put a lot of pressure on one individual, perhaps there should be more than one elected member to share the burden, but still a head figure with overall say so.
•A simplistic anonymous voting solution should be maintained as previously agreed by the club.
An anonymous & fair system for voting is being looked into and concurrently with this, we ask that ANY person who would like to put themselves forward for Chairperson lets us know by 'Replying to all' no later than noon on Friday 3rd January.
The Chair can be ANY club member and rather than try to list responsibilities and likely time commitments, we suggest you chat to any member of the Mismanagement Squad who can tell you how they believe the role should work. Ideally, the Chairperson will make the role their own, in time, and with the support from all club members.
Thanks & On On
